The dive
Off the island's southwest, sheltered and calm: sandy slopes running from 5 to about 20 metres with visibility in the honest 5–10 metre muck range. Conditions are as easy as diving gets — the challenge is entirely in the looking.
Residents
The namesake crocodilefish, flat and patient on the sand; seahorses; ghost pipefish; garden-eel colonies swaying at the edge of visibility. After dark the sand changes shifts entirely — hunters emerge, and the night dive here is the island's best.

- Sea state: reliably calm — a favourite when weather stirs elsewhere
- Suits: all levels day or night; ideal first night dive
