Mabul itineraries

Three days covers the highlights. Four lets you add Sipadan without rushing. These plans handle the logistics — boats, dive scheduling, and the timing mistakes first-timers make.

The two core plans

3D2N — the essential Mabul trip

Arrive on the morning or midday boat, two days of house reef and boat diving on the muck sites, out on day three. The minimum stay that does the island justice.

4D3N — Mabul + Sipadan

The classic combination: the extra night creates the slot for a Sipadan permit day without cannibalising your Mabul diving. If Sipadan is the reason you are coming, this is the plan.

The three timing rules behind every plan

  1. Land in Tawau by 2.00pm or you are overnighting in Semporna — the boats do not wait. Full detail in getting there.
  2. No flying within 24 hours of your last dive. Structure the final day around the no-fly interval, not around checkout time.
  3. The Sipadan day is fixed by the permit, not by you — build the rest of the trip around it.
